The FitRec app allows you to find workout partners, join pick-up games, and create groups for fitness and recreational sports. By using your geographic location and applying filters, you can discover and connect with other users seeking to do the same type of fitness activity or recreational sport nearby you. Following its philosophy, “We are better together,” the app aims to provide its users a personal fitness community at their fingertips.
FitRec was looking for its ideal mobile development partner to make its app idea a reality. The founders were looking for a development team that could understand its product idea and guide the technological strategy underlying it.
Dynamia met the FitRec team in Washington DC in order to set the main goals for the roadmap and kick off the development project.
We delivered an app with a team of 2 developers, spending three months on the first MVP, and after its release, we produced two more iterations of the app in a six month period, working on maintenance and new specs.
We developed the app using Ionic, push notifications for increased user engagement, and PHP with MySQL as the backend. All of the code was created in-house, without the use of any templates.
The FitRec team launched its newly developed app on the App Store and Google Play store. To date, it has over 5,000 downloads on both platforms and its community of fitness enthusiasts is expanding every day.
